The Last Leg of the Drive: It was FABULOUS ....Look what we saw and did!

We left Needles California yesterday at 9:30 am. Took our time as we were only 2+ hours from the boarder, four hours from our place in San Filipe... and we couldn't arrive till late afternoon to our apartment. We had Breakfast at the Wagon Wheel on old route "66" and head off into the desert. It was RAINING... so flower were blooming every where we look! Once we shopped for food, then crossed a slow traffic packed entry, it was dark and raining, and our drive quickly became stressful and harder.

The drive across the desert was "filled" with adventures (flowers, oranges and cotton fields, and sand dunes) for us. Here we are exploring and loving the oranges. WOW
I know we looked like "Crazy Canadians" but to see the Orange trees gave us such pleasure. It wasn't our first time seeing them, but it felt like it was! LOL

Here we are taking a close look at the cotton fields. This was sooo fun, to see, to touch, and to photograph the HUGE fields of cotton. Big bales, just like hay filled with white fluff. How incredible soft, and as white as our Canadian snow! Such experiences!!

After the oranges, flowers, and cotton fields, we took a stop and pretended we were on the Egyptians desert. It was so amazing to photograph this place! (Humm no wonder we were so late getting to San Filipe!) What a DAY!!!!! WOW!!!
The dips in the road across the desert was like being on a rolla-coaster! As you can see from the last few photos!

Especially for you BeBe...hehehehe  "Perkins"

By the time we crossed the Mexican boarder, we realized that our daylight was nearly gone....Yup, we had frolicked all day in the happiest way, and we would have to drive home in the dark! What-a-day..... We sure were tuckered out, but arrive safe and sound!
