Today was fantastic for Mark and I. We drove from winter snow to desert warmth. We went through the great city of Salt Lake, and I took a photo of our maps...showing the CRAZY connections of roads. Drove through Los Vegas, and made it to Needles, California. One of my favourite parts of this drive is the tiny corner of Arizona that we drive through ....I Looooove the canyons ....... I love this...heading right into the sunrise.
Sometimes it feels like I am in a dream....snow white mountains....gold sky....Mark right next to me.... and for this one second, it all is perfect! Sigh.
I am very excited to see the red earth. It lets me know that I am soon to hit the tip of Arizona ....It is my very favourite part of the whole drive...it is breath-taking!

This is the very end of the snow, far away in the background mountains.....and then it blends but for a mile or so with the rugged red mountains of Arizona ... Goodbye snow and cold....hello warm and dry!

After about 15 to 20 minutes, we land in the flat dessert of California. The change is stark and incredible.

Two hours later, Los Vegas and her smog come into view. We will not stop here, but just pass through. We never come for the people places....just for the nature, and her warm hugs.
