A fracker's Thanksgiving wishes

Hello all, and thanks Ma for the happy T-Giving wishes. Those were very nice pictures you posted. Tonight (saturday) I am sitting in the Best Western in Dawson Creek waiting to frack in the morning. We've been busy, however I got to come home wed, thurs, and friday evenings as we were working just outside of town (I got to see my big girl crawl!). I'm not sure what the type of job is tomorrow, but there are almost 30 of our trucks in the parking lot, and 43 guys in the hotel! There was finally a few more guys hired...now we actually have enough guys to run trucks. This means there are alot of guys being trained. I have my protege with me this set. Hopefully he'll be the best fracker that ever there was by the time our days off roll around. He's learning fast.
I notice its been getting darker earlier and staying darker longer...and also is getting colder fast. Just a chilling reminder of what is still to come. There has been no snow yet, but I shouldn't mention that. Anyways....I have an early morning (3:30am) so I must be off to bed. I look forward to seeing how everyone is doing. Happy thanksgiving to all, and too all a good night.

WELCOME, TO SKEE, OUR NEWEST BLOGGER!

Hi Grandson,
It was extremely nice to see your blog. Welcome to the FAMILY blog. I will buy some popcorn for sure. I will phone in my order later today. Congratulations on becoming the top-dog at Cubs. I here that your popcorn campaign is off to a good start. I was amazed that you went door to door and made over $100.oo for Scout's Canada. A tip of the hat to you!!!!

Thank you me daughter, Corinna. I knew you would like it and I called it, that you would get all teared up too. (hehhee). On this coming Saturday, Oct the 10th, Daddy/Papa and I are going to stay in a resort in Cap Pele. It is a few minutes from the beach and not so far from the PEI bridge....so we will hike and eat and sleep and enjoy the great outdoors. Dad/Papa has been working like crazy to finish the interior of the windows....and the only way to get him to take a day off is to LEAVE Tozer House. We will come back Monday....and vote in the Federal election.

If any of you want to see the Video in 'you tube' I am under the name Standringwestall. I will do more later.

Hadassah greeted her parents yesterday. She was between them both in bed,(that is the nicest place on earth to be when you are a little kid!), and she popped up on her hands and knee's, looked at them and said, "Hi Guys!" Imagine calling her parents "guys" how cute is that!
Roxi was invested into Scout's Canada, and she says the Chief who invested her was VERY serious about the whole procedure. She had a flag held over her while she made so many promises and vows that she said, "I had no idea in the end what I promised to whom" She and I had the greatest laugh over how formal this all was, considering the fact that she has 7, 8, & 9 year old kiddies. I really hope that she has a fun filled year teaching Cubs.

Heidi was sick this week but seems to be recovering except it has left her a bit drained. While she was sick and alone caring for Aunika, the baby decided to creep all over the place finding electric cords to chew and paper to taste, ect....Way to go Nonni!!

Hey Isaac and Becky, we would love for you "Guys" to blog along with us????? What do ya say!

Just about done Christmas shopping for all my Grand babies, both young and old. Just a bit more left.

Daniel darling we are all waiting for new about your holiday. You must find time to BLOG US ALL!!!!!

Auntie Lavina did ya get to see the video....you are a GREAT photographer!!! Yaaaa Auntie!

I must run as I have banking and packing and cleaning to do. Until Monday, God Bless thee one and all.

As Ever Mother/Nana HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE

To Joe ...From Mother Standring

Welcome aboard, to both Joseph and Corinna.

Now Joseph my son, you must understand what that introduction to our family means and how it is to be read.....LaRonde was ADDED to our family....yes my dear son I am aware that she is now a Standring, and I am proud to be sharing the Mrs. Standring titled with her!!! She is indeed one of my daughters. Father and I LOVE HER TO BITS!!!!!! The names on that intro are the people that God has given to Papa and I, even though Corinna is now a Standring, she was a LaRonde when God put her into our lives....Do you get it my love? As for the spelling, I am truly sorry....I do know how to spell her name, I guess when I was typing I put round instead of the Ronde...oopppss???!! Silly Mother...Please forgive me for that mistake :(

I have an announcement to make to the family....This year on my 50th birthday, Joe called me on the 2'd instead of the 3'd. Yaaa! I had a great talk to Joe this week. He is way up north past Chetwyn BC. We spoke by satellite phone. It is different because there is this delay. You speak and then he answers you a few seconds later. It is as though he is carefully thinking about everything you say, and then answers. You get use to it after a while. I am always glad to hear from him. I had a call and a song from Corinna and Caleb for my birthday...thanks guys that was so nice. I had a call and singing from Kristopher and Heidi while driving in the car, thanks a million, I loved it. I had a call from Scott-Isaac, and his mommy forgot that I was at Auntie "L" and so he sang my happy birthday on video and uploaded it to you tube...It is SO worth watching, family. It can be found under M&R Flewwelling in the You Tube search engine. While you are there, also see him sing Oh Canada, in French...his own french I might add! Isaac called too. Daniel called and left a message but did not wish me a happy B-day...so I think he forget. That is okay...I guess :( ..... We are all waiting for a DEtrailed POST from you DANIEL! How was that vacation...uh??

Caleb is going to be Darth Vader for Halloween. He will be awesome. Wish he could come to my door. I am not sure What Skee will be yet, and not sure if Dassi is Halloween material yet or not? Maybe Roxi could do her FIRST post and let us know?????

Hadassah had a bad reaction to Penicillin...poor baby. The same week Mark F also had a reaction to medication. GO FLEWWELLINGS GO!!!

Aunika is creeping when she absolutely has too. She fully believes in being waited on hand and foot. My mother told me for years how , when I was a baby I would not do anything for myself. As soon as my toys were out of reach I would wait for her to push them back to me. I never crept nor walked for nearly 18 months. So that is what Heidi gets for naming Aunika after me...HA! Aunika has completed her first swimming lesson as a starfish, she now becomes a seahorse. Skee is back in Cubs and this year he is a Sixer. Cubs has began its popcorn campaign selling. LET BUY SOME FROM HIM!!!Yaaaa!!!! . Caleb is practising being Darth Vader, as he received his costume last week. Dassi newest words are Bum, Cheek, (the other kind of cheeks), nose and circle. Her two favorites letters are "H" and "M".

Becky is sell Candle Lite products, they are the best candle you can ever buy. She is sending me a catalog by mail this week. I can not wait to see it. Isaac and Kris are on their days off. Joe, Mark and his brother Scott are away and working. Isaac has his Halloween decoration all up and is ready for the spooks. I Hope the nephews might get by between now and spook night.

Dad/Papa is working real hard to get all the plastering done around the windows. The house is completely upside down and will be until I can clean everything up and put my furniture back in its place.

Corinna, I made a special movie for you of the Autumn leaves and tried to post it but failed. So I am going to post it on You Tube. When I do I will send you a link and I will try to post a link on the blog so you all can see it. I hope in a day or two to have it ready for you. I am going to remove the post where I tried to post it. All that came was the title page....Hahahaheee. I have also sent you some colour leaves.

I am thrilled that Joe and Corinna are on board. Now we need Mark and Roxi and Skee. Come on fellows...get with it too.

Lovingly Mother/Nana

ok ok, i'm in

If Joe can find the time, then I can find the time! Thanks for the motivation dear.

Finally a break

Hello all. I don't get a chance to post often, or even really read the blog often. But I am back from fracking this week and I am enjoying my days off. Work is going well and I enjoy it. I have been officially promoted to pump operator, from iron truck operator. I now drive a tractor trailer everyday, rather than a body job truck. The position is a bit harder, but just as enjoyable. It opens the door for me to move further up in the company. (You can go here: http://www.calfrac.com/Docs/Service_Line_Equipment/Fracturing/quintiplex.php to see a picture of what I drive). In the field I can receive 5 more promotions before I am at the top. Then it is possible for me to get a position in the office. That is of course if I should stay that long. For as long as I am in Grande Prairie I will keep this job (if I can help it!), but who knows how long we will stay.
Being on the road for two weeks at a time really makes for a busy set of days off! We have to get groceries, do shopping, pay bills, pick this up, drop that off, go to this class, do this fun activity! A fun filled week. This week Heidi, Aunika, Skee and I went for a nice swim together. I got to take Aunika into he deep end AND go down the wild water slide with her. We have been having a lot of fun. Then Skee stayed the night for the family BBQ the next afternoon. We stayed up late, ate nachos (famous Waye nachos) and watched a movie called 'Balls of Fury', a cheesy, sometimes funny movie about the dark, underground world of competitive ping pong. We enjoyed ourselves. Skee and I picked the movie out ourselves, and went to Tim's for a late night hot chocolate.

The next day we had our B-day BBQ. We were celebrating Heidi's b-day late (Sept.19) and mine early (Oct. 20) as I will definately be working on my birthday (I have always been unlucky when it comes to birthdays....all through university I had midterm exams on my mid-term birthday, and now that I'm working, I will always be working on my b-day! Rats). In attendance we had: Isaac, Corinna, Caleb, Skee, Biffer, Roxi, Dassi, and Scott. Mark, Becky, and Joe were working. We had a good time together, and enjoyed eating burgers at a different venue. It seems every event that ever takes place in Grande Prairie ends up being celebrated at Roxi's and we all eat her burgers. Not that we don't enjoy that, we love Roxi's place, and love eating her burgers. But it was nice to host a gathering for a change. Everything went well except when I burnt the first round of burgers, Dassi had an allergic reaction and broke out in hives all over her body, and Skee slipped and fell in a pile of poo. That's right, just perfectly matted in the back of his head. I had to hold the poor guy under to hose to blast it out, and the hose was cold. My heart goes out to him, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do when a nephew falls in poo!

Today I went to the Dr. to have a wart removed and had an incredible wait. I showed up at 10, left and did some shopping. I used the gift cards Isaac and Corinna gave me to Canadian Tire (I have a weakness for tools on sale!) I bought a stud finder so I can hang a picture without using 12 nails, a level so I can hang them straight, and a special tool you can use in your drill to remove stripped screws - so I can remove the screws I strip hanging the pictures :) Thank you both for feeding my appetite for Canadian Tire. I then went to Costco for diapers, Walmart for bum cream and Motrin, and then to work to check my mailbox. I went back to the Dr`s office and as I walked in they called my name! It was perfectly timed. It took nearly 2 1/2 hours. Afterwards Heidi and I had a coffee and went to a class with Aunika. It was called "comfort, play and teach". She got to play with some nice toys and other babies, we read books, sang songs, and learned about different ways to play, learn and comfort. It was really nice to be able to attend this class today. I was the only daddy there because most daddies work. I am looking forward to attending more classes when I am around.

Anywho, I should be ending my blog for now. I will be keeping an eye on how everyone is doing, and I enjoy hearing all the news. I miss you Dan, and I hope to be able to talk to you again soon. I'm glad all is well where you are, and I find your stories and pictures very interesting. It makes me long for something outside of beautifully bland Grande Prairie. God Bless all.

Kristopher

Daniel's On Vacation

Hello all my loved ones.

I have heard that Dan is on Vacation at Andre', who is now living alone, because his darling wife is in Nova Scotia, attending a university there in Wolfville.

I know we will all be excited for Dan to blog us all about it. Heidi was going to post a video of Nonni's newest accomplishment. I know tonight that she was invited to a friend house and then she was off to church. Earlier this morning she was working. I am also a waiting that blog!

Roxi has become a Cub leader for Boy Scout Canada, she really seems to love it! Nice Roxi :).

Dad is in Newfoundland for the next couple of days. He is attending meeting for work. He is in Saint Johns.

It is my 50th birthday in 15 more minutes, which will officially be Oct 2'd here in Salisbury, New Brunswick. I will be spending it with Auntie Lavina...my long time friend. She is taking me out to lunch at Hienz.

I am talking to Roxi on the phone and it is now midnight. She has just wished me happy birthday. She had a big meeting at school concerning Skee, all went very well. Hurray.

I will sign off until tomorrow.

God Bless you all, As Ever, Mother
