Hi Mom, your pictues inspired me today....
The Keepers of the Lighthouse
The grain elevators watch over the prairies
As far as the eye can see
The lighthouse stands tall on rugged hill and gentle bluff
Keeping an eye on the sea
Egypt has pyramids, Greece has their ruins
It is fortunate to witness all these
They remind us of where we have come from
Be it deserts, or grasslands, or seas
But none captures my heart like the lighthouse
As lonely as they may seem
Blinking light through dark and stormy billows
And hope and promise through many an awaiting wives' dream
Where would we be if it were not for them?
Only dreams asleep in the cold waters' depths?
Our existences barely concieved yet
Aside from the aspirations of those waiting who've wept
These lighthouses not only hold timeless beauty
We must remember well
That these beacons of light that shine through the night
Guided our great grandfathers home on the swells
They've existed through time with preservation
Variable, yet constant as waves
It is up to us now to protect them
From fates of watery graves
We, the Keepers of the Great Canadian Lighthouse!
